The First of It’s Kind: Developing an Online Space for First Gen Students

First Gen Fund, an organization that provides critical financial support to first-generation students, needed to establish a website; one that embodied its mission and engaged its diverse audience, and could receive thousands of applications from interested students. The project involved designing and developing a new digital platform from the ground up, with a focus on user experience and brand alignment.

The website redesign started with wireframing and crafting an intuitive information architecture to ensure easy navigation. Custom coding was implemented to create a responsive, mobile-friendly site that offers a seamless experience across all devices. Interactive forms were built to facilitate engagement and streamline communication with visitors.

To strengthen the Fund's visual identity, cohesive color palette and logo were designed to reflect its values and vision. This comprehensive digital transformation enhanced the First Gen Fund's online presence, effectively communicating its mission and fostering deeper connections with its community. The website was launched on September 16th, 2024 and received 139,000 visitors and over 2,000 applications within the first two weeks of going live.
